The Southeast Asian Lady's Slipper Orchid
Paphiopedilum Lowii - Species
|
With pouches full and petals tipped in pink, Paphiopedilum lowii swoops down like a pelican in search of food. Endemic to Borneo and the Malay Peninsula, this southeast Asian lady's slipper blooms in the spring, with three to four golden yellow flowers attached to a very long stalk and kelley-green leaves.
A single-stem, multi-floral potted lowii orchid can be placed anywhere in your home or office. With proper care, the perfect bloom will last 1-2 months. An antique chinese canteen is the perfect companion for this rare beauty. See BASKET for more options..
RECOMMENDED BOOKS: Orchids Simplified by H. Jaworski, Ortho's All About Orchids by E McDonald; Orchids by J. Dunmire, Ultimate Orchids by T. Sheehan, Taylor's Guide to Orchids by J. White
From base line to top petals, the orchid stands at approximately 14-16 inches tall. A single bloom measures 3.5 inches in length.
